Thousands Lost Power in Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Intense Storms
Approximately 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast were left without power on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms impacted the state, bringing strong winds hitting 109km/h.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Impact
Locals witnessed substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7cm in some areas. Weather authorities announced that different parts across the state had been impacted by significant hail.

Emergency crews were focused on reestablishing power throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews working to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Storm Challenges
At the same time, approximately one thousand energy customers in Victoria also faced electricity disruptions after Melbourne recorded its most precipitation in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services responded to nearly 600 emergency reports across the area, primarily for structural issues but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

- Hoppers Crossing area - various emergency calls
- Wyndham - 179 calls for assistance
At one point on Sunday, in excess of 28,000 energy customers in Victoria were without power.
Weather Forecast
Moist weather were forecast to persist along significant areas of Queensland's east this next several days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
The following day was expected to become the most rainy day, with persistent storm activity predicted across multiple regions of both regions.
Safety Concern
Medical authorities cautioned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
